| Description: | South Georgia Center for Cancer Care will offer South Georgia residents free prostate and skin cancer screenings on Tuesday, January 29 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. With the combined cost of these screenings at approximately $400, this event is a great opportunity for residents to receive critical annual screenings free of charge before the end of the year. With Georgia’s estimated death rate from prostate cancer ranking it as the 6th highest state per capita nation wide, it’s clear that more Georgia men should be taking advantage of early detection and diagnosis. In addition, with the rate of new melanoma diagnoses – responsible for 75% of all skin cancer deaths – at 13 percent higher than the national average, regular skin cancer screenings are also critical for Georgia residents. Members of the media are welcome to attend and will be able to take photos/video. Interested community members are encouraged to call (912) 764-3037 to register for an exam. Media should RSVP to: Kate Ryan Tel: 212-398-9680 kryan@affect .com |
