David, you do raise some very good questions. The cameras were there because of media interest, not because Britt asked for them. But he has admitted taking advantage of those cameras.

Your questions would be answered if the council were forthcoming and addressed the issues in a straightforward manner.

I would betcha that the position last as long as it takes the legal system to decide if she can have her Statesboro job back. Hatcher and Andrews are on committees together. Oh forgot to tell you Jimmy andrews is Mayor of Sandersville.

Explaining his reasons for broaching the topic in the manner he did, Britt said Wednesday " I knew they would have to pay attention. Everybody wants to know - what is it you're not telling us?"
Britt said he originally planned not to attend the meeting, but changed personal plans and arrived late at the meeting because he knew there would be strong public attendance as well as news media with cameras.
"It was an opportunity for me to ask them in front of people. I knew cameras would be there. As an elected official, we need to answer ( the public)."
He said he knew Hatcher would not be at the meeting and seized the opportunity to confront the others outside of the mayor's presence, stating he felt Hatcher " pulled all their strings" and influenced the way Lewis, Brannen and Blitch voted on issues.

There is so much more that is buried that could come out from jmac....one particular scandal was the payroll fiasco in 2006 where all employees did receive rate increases when UGA did a job re-evaluation on everyone....but the department heads mistakenly got a DOUBLE increase....guys like wayne johnson who were already making an undeserved 100,000 or so a year got a 7.5% increase while the guys who pick up our trash at 10 an hour got 3.5%.... and when George Wood and Judy found the mistake they blamed it on the deceased HR MAnager Woody Chapman....AND did not correct the mistake!! As a result, this created a huge budget shortfall prompting GW and Jmac to balance the budget on the backs of employees by increasing the insurance premiums 1% a year for the next 5 years among other things....AND Bill Hatcher knew about this!.....just one example of jmacs fine finanacial work for the the city....who knows what other skeletons are hidden????....i tell you, jmac has the goods on hatcher and he don't want NOBODY to find out!!! Why do y'all think GW resigned and moved on?????
