I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the people who lived on Lincoln Street (and have long since moved) that left their cats behind. The poor cats were never spaded or neutered, so they have been multiplying all over the neighborhood. A few of us have taken in a cat or two, but it's getting out of control. Today, my wife an I took an abandoned mother cat and her six kittens to the Humane Society.
Rather than complain about the cats, I'd rather complain about the sorry people who are so irresponsible that they cant get their pets fixed, and then have the nerve to abandon them. Of course, abandoning a child would (and rightfully so) earn the scorn of a nation. I think it is equally scornful to abandon an animal. There are health and safety risks that are too numerous for this blog. On top of that, if one can't even take care of a dog or a cat, how should we expect them to take care of themselves? Let alont their children....
I just think its cruel to leave animals behind to fend for themselves. There are plenty of good samaritans to adopt pets, but unfortunately not enough.
