On Tuesday November 18th members of the Statesboro Service League and Statesboro Regional Library hosted a R.I.F. (Reading is Fundamental) book distribution for the members of the Boys & Girls Club. Approximately 150 children were provided free books through the program which is designed to promote reading among youth. “Without the support of groups such as the Statesboro Service League and our Regional Library this program would not exist and we are grateful for their support said Mike Jones Executive Director.

This is definitley a wonderful program and I am thankful as well to all that help with this. As a writer myself, I first had to learn how to read and I was an avid reader growing up. It is an enjoyable and rewarding pass-time that can stimulate ones imagination.

I agree! RIF is great! The library staff does such a great job and it's alot of work. If have a chance stop by and ask them how you can help! You money is also needed! Funding is WAY down this year for all library programs! Every dollar counts!

Thanks you B&GC for all you do!

RIF is good if your kid can read, but if they are dyslexic, it'd be nice if Statesboro had a program to train dyslexic children!
