Moon Halo

Did any of you see the beautiful rainbow color halo around the moon last night( Sunday night)? This is caused by cirrus clouds that are made up of ice crystals indicating cloudy or rainy weather.
The spectrum of colors were beautiful , with blue being the widest ring. A halo around the moon is also known as Lunar moon. Rings can also appear around the sun and are called "sundogs".
I enjoy using my son's telescope to gaze the heavens when I visit he and his family in Florida.
I wonder if the original authors , Richard Rodgers and Hart in 1934, were inspired by seeing colorful rings around the moon when they wrote the classic : "Moon Blue"..(singing and humming words as I type along)

We know you are a year older now and you can watch the moon with all the pretty colors, as long as you don't see any pink elephant going around and around the moon...giggle
