November is American Diabetes Month. On World Diabetes Day, Friday, November 14, we are asking members of the
community to donate $1.00 for “A Day for Diabetes, a one-day call to action. Surely, for the price of a soda (most of the time) you could donate to this worthy cause.
Individuals may go by any participating drop off location and donate $1.00 to the
American Diabetes Association. In return for the donation, people will get a written
diabetes risk test and other educational literature. Organizers are urging people to
learn more about diabetes.

In Bulloch County alone, over 5000 people have diabetes. Leaders in Bulloch
County have organized free literature giveaways and free screenings throughout the
community to draw attention to this serious and deadly disease throughout the month
of November.
I urge you to get out and give your $1--help us fight this disease.
