Thanks, Iliah, I voted for the other candidate. But that is ok. Maybe we will get that change we both were seeking. After all, in the end we are all one people and that is what makes this country so great.
God bless President Obama and the entire US, and God Bless our brave troops.
CB thats how I feel. Obama won. I didn't vote for him but you know I am still proud to be an American and there is no other place I would want to live and raise my family!
And God bless you too CBWill, my guy won and I'm sure that it's because I voted for the first time, who knew I had that kind of power. It's a little scary to think what I could have accomplished if I had started voting earlier in life. Just kiddin.
Mr. Obama does seem like the sort of person we need at this time in our nations history. I believe his intentions are good and that he will fold us all into his new recipe for a united rainbow cake.
We are all in the same boat now so lets pull on those oars in the same direction instead of at cross purposes. Lets show ourselves and the world what a United States of various people can do. One Love.
OTB, EVERY vote counts, EVERY time. I pray that Obama is the change that is NEEDED, and not just a bunch of talk without the walk.
Dang, OTB. If I had know one vote was that powerfull, I would have written you in as President. Just kidding. I don't think you are crazy enough to be President. I know it is a position that has to be filled, but if you really think about it, any one would have to be a little nuts are have a whole lot of confidence in there ability to run this country. Obama and McCain were both running so they certainly fit into that group that posses that confidence.
We all have to believe in hope or all hope will be lost.
Well, I know that my user name is new on here. But I have been reading these blogs throughout the election and have chose not to respond. Even though my candidate didn't win I think as a country we will all need to come together and support Obama. But, I do think some people are taking the celebration to the extreme. Stripping off all your clothes in celebration and beating up people who still wears a McCain tee shirt is something that I don't think Obama would be proud of.
I do believe papa is being sarcastic. The point being that the parties are so divided, it will take a miracle to unite them.
I don't see how we can move forward in a positive way if the parties can't come to some kind of agreement.
Iliah, thank you for voting for the right reasons. I don't care who voted for whom, as long as they did it for a good reason.
Funnygirl, people actually did that? How awful.
I just pray that those young voters don't become disillusioned with government when after a couple of years President-Elect Obama hasn't completely changed the world. This is an exciting time in American history and there is a tremendous sense of excitment for Obama, but the reality of the situation is that government is complicated. It takes a long time to get anything done. That of course, is not to suggest that Obama can't accomplish a lot of his goals, but rather, a reminder that change is not going to happen overnight.
Obama is a man. He is human. He is not going to be able to perform miracles. But what he has done is get people interested in government who were not before, and maybe that's a good thing.
I hope to see people like myself pleasantly surprised instead of disappointed.
Yes WD that did happen and university students were laughing about it and thought it was cool or funny. The girl that was beatin was actually at another university but it was told to a student here, first hand while she was being attacked! The student that was telling the story said that the victim should have known better and basically deserved what happened! It's ashame that ignorance is the basis for this attack.
