REGRET

How many of us live with regret? What is regret? For some, regret is a feeling linked to a painful or embarrassing event from our past. For others, feelings of regret are linked to missed opportunities or failed endeavors. Each day, many of us exhibit a behavior, make a decision, or express an attitude directly influenced by our regrets. What is the “demon that haunts you? For Chris Sandy, everyday of his life is haunted by regret. If you are unfamiliar with Chris Sandy, you can easily find him on the internet. I’ll briefly tell you his story… several years ago he killed a married couple in a drunk driving accident outside of Atlanta. Since then, Chris Sandy has been serving a lengthy prison sentence. He travels around to schools, churches, and other organizations telling his story of how one night of “fun destroyed his life, his family’s life, and all the lives of the people who loved the couple he killed. His story is powerful and life changing. As part of this year’s Red Ribbon Week activities, Bulloch County Drug Free Communities Support Program will be bringing Chris Sandy to speak at several schools and community organizations in Statesboro. I invite you to attend the Wednesday, October 22nd presentation at Ogeechee Technical College at 11:00 am. This presentation is open to the public and your attendance is encouraged. Admission is free and for one hour of your time, you will receive a gift that you will remember for the rest of your life.
