Georgia Gas Shortage

Yesterday when I went to get gas at Gate on South Main street, only 2 pumps were working. All the other pumps had brown paper bags over them. The two working pumps offered just regular gas only. I understand Atlanta area has really been hit hard recently with gas shortage. The media has not said much about it, instead they are devoting coverage to the upcoming election and economy. The shortage is due to hurricanes we've had recently , which hit at a time of year when fuel supplies are already stretched thin. Florida and Tennessee are also states suffering from gas shortage. We don't know how soon the shortages will abate, but hopefully by this weekend we'll see a change for the better.

I have seen e-mails,websites and blogs saying that people have been spreading rumors about a gas shortage this weekend and this makes everyone fill up their cars and cause shortages. I would be careful traveling anywhere far this weekend and if you do take a supply of gas in an approve fuel tank.

I filled up in Sylvania today and the same was here. No high test or premium. I have two trucks (pick-ups) and both are full of gas. It should last a month. My ole hay and feed truck has one full tank.

And...we all panicked about 3 years ago and there was no gas shortage.
