Wow! How interesting. I was just blogging about the arts ans what I had in mind. Cpould you difine "grass roots"?
Dear TeaPotter,
The Grassroots Arts Program (GAP) is a decentralized funding program that began in 1993. The Georgia General Assembly appropriates funds annually for each of the 159 counties in Georgia to support arts programming at the local level.
The Georgia General Assembly gives the monies to the Georgia Council for the Arts, who in turn, give it to the 159 counties to various arts councils around the state. Our region is coordinated through the Statesboro Arts Council and I serve as their coordinator here at the Averitt Center for the Arts.
Thanks for asking,

Thanks for the info Tony. I'm just your not so average Joe who likes writing, music and art.
Its really odd because just prior to my reading your blog about the grassroots program I had placed a couple of blogs myself explaining my goals and desires with this restaurant I have. Those goals and desires involve art, music and writing brought here by local talent to be displayed. I've always wanted a place where we could all come together over a cup of tea, coffee, a good meal if desired and share thoughts and ideas.
I'd like to get the local schools involved as well by possibly allowing their art students to display some work here for the outskirting communities of Bulloch County to see.
All this being said, please know I haven't a clue where to begin or if I am even in the right ballpark. Hopefully I am because I would love to pursue this idea into a reality. I have made a meak beginning by having a writing contest here about a month ago. There is nothing wrong with trying to have a little culture in the country or on the interstate for travelers to see. I just need some assistance.
Thanks again for answering back to the Teapotter. I will wait impatiently for your next response. Ha-ha!
