I just read about this in today's paper. I was impressed as your were when I met him. Several times, I have seen him in church (I'm just the opposite waranne...I don't like to miss a church service, but that's a personal matter) and the sheer determination to tell others about Jesus is amazing as it is a blessing. I've actually seen him have to be almost carried to the pulpit by Ellis Wood who carries him around to various places. As I saw this man in such a fragile state and began to think about the real reason he was there, tears streamed down my face and I was overwhelmed by his compassion for others and love for God. He is a true disciple and being feeble and ill doesn't keep him from God's house very often. Hey, I know another man who suffered discomfort for the sake of others. :)
Anyone who has ever met Dr. Guido will recognize his awesome aura. He most truly is a special person who not only does God's work but emanates God's love for mankind.
Update on his condition - his hematoma is healing and may not need surgery. He is alert and walking around, being his wonderful self, and the only complication is a little fluid on the lungs doctors are working on.
He is in God's hands as always and prayers do work.
I don't want to sound nuts, and I don't *worship* Dr. Guido, but he is closer to Jesus than anyone I have ever met, and I don't feel he is just a "regular guy." You can feel God when Dr. Guido is in the room.
