Today is a bittersweet day. The sales manager for Community Voice, my colleague, and my friend Jill Edelman is making the big move to Memphis this weekend.
Anyone who has the pleasure of meeting Jill knows that she is a driven, intelligent and highly successful individual. She has done a lot for this publication, and her hard work and dedication to Community Voice are evident within its pages. In addition to managing the advertising side of the magazine, Jill is responsible for the creation and inception of the many contests that have run, from Pet Idol to Mom Makeover to Show Us Summer. Their success is a reflection of Jill’s drive and motivation to create a fun and interactive way for readers like us to get involved.
Personally, Jill has been a touchstone for me, always there to offer her advice and support whenever I may need it. Her advice is solid, and I know that, if I'm wrong, she's not going to let me off the hook or placate me. She will tell it like it is.
Jill is a dynamic person, and I know that she will succeed in anything that she sets out to accomplish. She will be missed.
On a lighter note, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new sales manager, Shauna Swain. Shauna graduated from Georgia Southern with a degree in marketing, and is a huge Georgia Southern football fan. She has had over ten years of experience in sales, and her upbeat and positive attitude are truly an asset to our publication. I am very excited to work with her.
Finally, the voting is wrapping up for the Show Us Summer photo contest. If you haven’t yet done so, be sure to check out all of the great photos your neighbors have submitted, and vote on your favorites.
See you on the Web!
