So are you all ready for some more good news? I hope that everyone has enjoyed their vacation from my doom and gloom outlook but everything has to end sometime.

I have included a portion of a blog on Unknown News, does anyone actually disagree with Leon’s reasoning? If the politicians are responsible for our many ills as he maintains I don’t think that we can count on them to come to the rescue anytime soon.

Do not put your trust in men, neither in princes for God alone is trustworthy. On the other hand all things work for the good with God, Amen.

“By becoming the paid agents of the powerful lobbies and special interests, by ignoring the will of the people they are sworn to serve, the Washington politicians are solely responsible for the present myriad problems, which our Nation faces. With each passing day their credibility fades, the latest reason being the use of taxpayer dollars to bail out the Wall Street banks while people lose their homes. As usual the citizenry are made to pay the bill for the failed business ventures of the banks, when it is the banks, which should be paying restitution to their victims.

Clearly, the situation is becoming more and more unacceptable, and it is folly to believe that the next election will end the war and restore our once healthy and dynamic economy. This is not going to happen, as the last major elections have demonstrated beyond question.

As things deteriorate, the political thugs in Washington will become more and more desperate to retain their power. The growing militarization of America's police forces and the passing of even more draconian laws are proof of this. The dominoes are falling fast and nothing less than a miracle will reverse America's decent into chaos."

I guess we all need to believe in miracles, I certainly do.

This morning I turned on the television news and saw lines of people standing in long lines. I turned up the sound on the TV thinking that it probably was another bank going under and people were rushing to take out their money. NOPE, it was Americans waiting in line to be the first to get a Batman ticket. I think that Americans are responsible too for the mess this country is in.
Also, I was working yesterday and a friend that I work with who happens to be a millionaire, got a call from a friend of his that works for Homeland Security. He told him that he was moving to Canada before September. What does he know that we do not know? Anyway, he told him that he thought it would be wise to have 6 months of supplies because it could be caotic.
I don't believe in miracles. I do believe that I will make sure that I have a gun, some canned goods, some beans, a heat source, and some water just in case. And some liquor. Maybe some chocolate.

It isn't the banks fault people got morgages they couldn't afford and either knew or should have known such.

Actaully the Feds are backing Fannie May and Freddie Mac to help bail people out not the banks themselves. If the banks fail our economy is gone.

Try paying attention and not just believing anything bad you hear. Also try some of that love Jesus talked about.

That explains why the Fed instituted new regulations about "deceptive lending practices," then, and why banks gave hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans to people who - on their face - could never afford to pay 'em back.

Sorry, BG, but the banks have to shoulder a lot of the blame. Check out the "This American Life" special on it at http://www.thisamericanlife.org/Radio_Ep...

They should not have given the loans yes, but it doesn't hide the fact that these people should have known better. I wouldn't have taken out one of these mortgages. Banks should be held to a standard, but it isn't totally there fault. Why do people always blame someone else for stupidity?

NowhereMan commented on Friday, Jul 18, 2008 at 17:08 PM

The banks were the ones with the money. They were the ones who opted to loan the money. Aren't they the stupid ones for making poor business decisions? Why are you blaming the people who applied for the loans for the stupid actions of the lenders? If the banks felt they were a poor risk, they shouldn't have taken the risk.

The whole mess boils down to greed and the consequences that attach to greed. The present banking crisis reads like something out of Aesop's Fables. The principal characters must be the banks for holding easy profits above morality or even common sense, the current deregulation mania,"voodoo economics,"incompetent or corrupt political leadership,a culture which worships mammon, and the generalized sense that the party is over and it's time to get while the getting's good.

If you apply for a loan which you cannot afford it is as much your fault as the ones loaning you the money. Both parties are equally responsable so we have to stop blaming it all on the banks. Yes thet were trying to take advantage of people and make money, but it was stupidity on the borrowers part to take the loan. Let them pay for the stupidity. Noone has ever bailed me out of anything, but I have better sense than to get into something like that.

Caveat emptor has become our guide----doesn't sound like progress.

The banks are to blame for bank loans they issued and if they go out of bussiness. The people that took the loans are to blame when they get tossed out on their butts. Why do we care if you get evicted .... that is the blame of the media. Hey not everyone gets to own a house its just a part of life. How many people do you really know that are starving? How many got their homes taken away? How many lost everything when a bank went out of bussiness? ( you are federally insured for 100,000) Gas is expensive and food cost more. And? Drive less, get a better job, work more maybe, eat less but stop crying like its your right to eat steak every other day and go on vactions and get the new K pod 60gamma bit player and 50 inch plasma acid big screen tv and 700 channel cable and all the other junk out there. There is not going to be a revolution, this idea is laughable and made up by people that do not have real issues to worry about. Our parents parents did not think about conspiracies did they? Why? If there is something the government wants to do you can not stop them anymore. Back in the good old days you could actually fight the army of the Bristish becasue everyone had the same technology. How can you stop an army that you never see and can see you? Even God betrays the ones that love him sometimes, because you might be kneeling to the wrong God.
