Sea Island Bank and Statesboro-Bulloch County Park and Recreation Department announce the winners of the 2008 Firecracker Fest: “United We Stand coloring contest.
David Moore, a fifth grader from Mill Creek Elementary, won first place overall and has been chosen to be used as the official artwork for Firecracker Fest. Second place winner is Abigail Morgan, a fourth grader from Bulloch Academy, and third place winner is Sydney Guerrero, a fifth grader from Brooklet Elementary.
In each grade level’s competition the winners included: Katelyn Carter, a kindergartener from Trinity Christian, Sarah Conner, a first grader from Sallie Zetterower, Jessica Kincaid, a second grader from Brooklet Elementary, and Jenny Heller, a third grader also from Brooklet Elementary. David Moore, fifth grade, and Abigail Morgan, fourth grade, also received first place in their grade level competition.
The most colorful winner is Bailey Williams, a fifth grader from Mill Creek Elementary. Most creative winner is Jolie Scott, a fourth grader also from Mill Creek Elementary. And most patriotic goes to Jacob Groover, a third grader from Trinity Christian.
A special thanks goes to Dr. Dawn Cartee, President of Ogeechee Technical College, Judge Lee Deloach, Bulloch County Court Probate Judge, and Christian Flathman, Director of Marketing and Communication at Georgia Southern University for judging over 600 entries to select this year’s winners!
