This morning, a blog was posted that detailed one of our blogger’s experiences with a local bank. The bank’s name was mentioned specifically in the blog, along with a string of incidents that occurred between the blogger and the bank that the blogger felt to be inappropriate. I feel the need for clarification as to why that blog was removed from the site. While we encourage our bloggers to exercise their “voice" on this site, it has to be done without mentioning specific businesses or entities. It is not possible for us to verify all of the claims that are made against individuals, businesses, or entities. To say, “One of the local banks did X, Y, and Z and I don’t agree…" is fine — to single out any one specific business violates the guidelines that are set forth on the community.statesboroherald.com site: “We will delete any comments and media that can be considered as: damageable, injurious, defamatory, libelous toward persons or organizations…" Thank you again for your contributions, and for following the guidelines that are set forth on the site.

Well thank you for the clarification. That was my blog that was deleted and I have all the proof to back up every claim I made and so do the 12 other people that contacted me before that blog was pulled. Maybe the Herald should do a piece on ethical vs unethical banking practices in the City of Statesboro and find out just how true what I wrote was and how the little guy who is trying to make a living is pushed around by bank X just because they can alter the way they post deposits even after that deposit was being shown as processing earlier that morning just to dissapear and reappear the next day followed by 16 NSF fees that should never have been processed. Than the little guy is told by bank X that his or her deposit was not there in time when they had proof from there company when the wire transfer took place and had a printout from bank X showing the deposit pending just hours before it was removed until the following day and preceeded by 16 NSF fees. Maybe I did violate a rule by mentioning a business by name but lets see how you would react if bank X witheld your deposit in order to make money. The other incident I mentioned in my blog that was removed was that bank X has a new policy and this was told to me by bank X's manager. There new policy is to clear the largest check first therefore causing all of the smaller checks to bounce resulting in yet again more money for them. Who is getting hurt by all of this? Is there more than one bank in our community that is slipping through the loopholes and ripping our citizens off of there hard earned money. If I did half the things that bank X did to me to another person in the community I would be arrested for Theft by Conversion but yet they are allowed to continue to practice in this manner unscathed. The citizens of Bulloch County deserve an answer as to why this is allowed to be carried out daily by there local bank X.
