Take Me To Post Comment Form Statesboro-Bulloch County Parks and Recreation Department and Subway will be hosting their annual Subway Sub Eating Contest July 4, 2008 at the Firecracker Fest inside Mill Creek Regional Park.

Subway and SBCPRD are looking for ambitious competitors to compete for the grand prize of $500 in the sub-eating contest. Those interested can enter their name at local Subways in the Statesboro, Sylvania and Brooklet, as well as, at the Honey Bowen Building on Fair Road. Those who wish to enter must enter their name by June 23.

Ten participants will be chosen randomly from the entries to compete in the contest. These participants plus five alternatives will be notified by June 27. After signing a waiver the day of the contest, participants will have 30 minutes to eat all of their five foot-long sub sandwiches. All participants and alternatives will receive a prize pack sponsored by Subway.

The Subway Sub Eating Contest will take place at Mill Creek Regional Park at 7 p.m. on July 4. It is one of several events that will be taking place at the Firecracker Fest 2008, “United We Stand. Come out and participate in the activities and enjoy this American holiday!

The 2008 Firecracker Fest will begin at 4 p.m. with music and games and will end at 11 p.m. after the grand firework show sponsored in part by Briggs and Stratton. This is a great event to bring the whole family to and SBCPRD, Sea Island Bank, and Subway hopes to see you there!
