My roommate, Jack, has left for the summer to join the Coast Guard and attend boot camp, so while he's gone another girl has moved in with me.
I came back to Statesboro Sunday night to make sure she had everything she needed and because I didn't want to leave her alone in the apartment for her first night.
While I was gone to my parents' house Saturday night Little Man (my ferret) got mad at me (which he does when he gets a bath or if I leave for a night) and made a disaster in the living room. He got in his litter box and dug with all fours to sling out all the kitty litter pieces on the carpet.
So while Rebekah was in the shower I vacuumed the living room. For those of you who know me, you know that I am a terrible vacuumer...here's what happened.
I got done vacuuming all the litter up (which took awhile) and decided to dump the bucket in the vacuum. Jack normally does that since the vacuum is his and I never learned the right way to eject it. I got the bucket out of the vacuum but then I couldn't figure out how to open it. As I was walking to the trashcan I passed in front of her bathroom door and I saw the "Release Contents" button. I thought the bucket would slide open in the middle and I'd just dump it over in the trash so I pressed the button. It did not slide open in the middle...
I pressed the button and two months worth of dust, kitty litter, dirt, carpet, (a spider I sucked up) and all kinds of crap shot out of the bottom of the bucket all over the carpet in front of her bathroom door. I mean it made a heck of a mess. It absolutely went everywhere. It covered everything. I've never seen anything like it.
I had to figure out how to get the bucket back together and put it back in the vacuum cleaner and THEN I had to re-vacuum all the vacuuming. It took almost 20 minutes to clean up my mess. What a great way to welcome her to the apartment....
