First Friday Art Walks are growing and that encourages those of us who are a part of the growing downtown culture of Statesboro. Statesboro, downtown, can now lay claim to fine restaurants such as Chops, Hugos, Blue Moon, French Quarter, and Statesboro Brews,and Sugar Magnolia{Friday pizza!}. There are art galleries such as 33 West, Free Spirit Pottery,{paint your own}, and ...West Main Art Gallery and Studios. Bob and Todd will soon be adding even more excitement with their grand opening of the new Yard Haus store located in the former Alicia Bea store location. More than ever we can, in this climate of growing gas prices and very few hours of leisure , enjoy the town we live in...downtown Statesboro.
West Main has a special guest artist in Tyler Moore this upcoming First Friday in June. He is Statesboro's own, his father is the pastor of Believers Church, currently Tyler is studying with Jan Schlegel in Germany.{jan-schlegel.com}Tyler's photos are especially evocative as the subjects benefit from the sales directly in much needed supplies of food, medical help, and shelter.
