AUGUSTA – Trevor Immelman did it.

He held on to win golf’s most prestigious tournament, never folding under the mounting pressure Sunday at Augusta National.

He did it, even with the intimidation best golfer in the world lurking, the crazy winds swirling through the pines and his ball diving into the all-water fairway on the 16th hole.

Not that we didn’t think he could, but it was amazing to see him come in here and take the lead on Thursday, never to give it up again.

Immelman is definitely a worthy champion, who seems like a super-nice guy.

You must be a golf nut. I was until arthritis did me in.
I had it so bad that I forgot about my 25th anniversary while playing a member guest.
My daughter is a past winner of the Women's Executive National golf Championship and holds a 1 handicap on her local course. ( men's tees)At age 47 she is slipping some what with work and living in the north.
The exec win got her a place in the pro am at Doral that year and she wound up playing with her friend pro Jane Geddes. Accepting that gift killed her amateur status for a year.
