Just an observation that in these days of candidates trying to out conservative or out progressive one another and talking about anything other than how to actually solve some of our country's problems, Bulloch County is truly blessed to have two such well-qualified candidates vying for Clerk of Superior Court. Both of these candidates have a wealth of experience and I have no doubt either one would be a fine Clerk of Court. Nice to have the problem of choosing the best rather than the lesser of evils.

While you are at it, I would highly recommend looking into Richard Woods for Georgia State Superintendent. I have had the pleasure of talking with him personally twice and he strikes me as being exactly what Georgia needs right now to get education back on track.
Sometimes this type of election gets forgotten...and then everyone complains about education but no one invested even a moment in thinking about who they put in charge. this year, I would sincerely like to ask folks to go to Woods website and read what he stands for. I think this one is a no brainer. :-)

Marco Rubio for POTUS
May 21, 2015
I won't vote for Rubio because of his stance on normalizing relations with Cuba. Allow American tourism, banking, and consumer goods -especially Internet access, smart phones - and agricultural products into Cuba. Leave them alone politically. Cuba will become a valued economic partner and, perhaps a democracy. Failed policies are ...

"Takers"
April 26, 2015
One topic sure to bring vehement responses and rhetoric is people on "welfare" - lazy, shiftless no accounts sucking on the government teat with no thought of working or bettering themselves. And you know it's true, you've read those type of comments on this very site. Volunteering at a non-denominational ...

ISIS Structure
April 26, 2015
This doesn't really fit in the category of politics. But it doesn't fit very well in any other category. Here is a lengthy (very) but extremely interesting article from Der Spiegel concerning the death of a key architect of ISIS and his designs for accomplishing specific territorial and secular goals ...

ISIS as Capitalists?
March 05, 2015
An informative article on ISIS economics and patronage. Considering most of the surrounding countries are, for the most part, decrying ISIS and threatening actions, I wonder how all the oil and other items are getting out and in. http://www.businessinsider.com/tafrikinomics-how-isis-funds-its-caliphate-2015-3

Homeland Security
February 28, 2015
An incumbent president issues an executive order. The opposition party can't block it legislatively because they don't have the votes. The states exercise the Federal courts and block implementation. Appeals pending. Constitution working just fine. Cannot say the same for politicians.
