Assuming we're tracking other national pregnancy-related trends as well (and I can't stress enough that this is total speculation!), we can estimate the number of induced abortions during this time in this area to be around 45, and the number of spontaneous abortions to be around 200.
Ironside, I too am dismayed by the epidemic of unwed mothers. Unfortunately, it is a barometer of the sad state of the nation.
2 things 1.-Babies are not aborted only fetuses are. 2.- Why would there be a mention of it? Further if it were not for abortion there would be more babies born to single mother to whom you would shake your head at.
