Now that's it's (almost) official let me just say Congrats to GSU for moving up. I hope this new conference develops into a great place to play football!

LMFAO---Georgia Southern just went from being the big dog of FCS to the Chihuahua in a pink tutu of the FBS!!!!!!

I think it is a good move for GSU.

Swimming in the big pond, but still hanging with fish of an 'edible' size.

I think the Eagles can grow here.

I had considerably more thoughts on this than a little comment would hold:

Will this help the employees who have not received a raise in 6 and 7 years?

gawalkman commented on Wednesday, Mar 27, 2013 at 20:06 PM

I can remember Statesboro and GSU before they moved to the Southern Conference. People were uneasy. People are uneasy today because of their fears of the unknown. It will be a good move and may lead to a move to another conference at a later date.

I read your posting. Great comments.

If an employee wants a bigger paycheck, they are more than welcome to go find a higher paying job anytime. Success is accomplished by actions, not complaints. There are also opportunities for someone to work a second job if they want to enhance their income.

Give up 10 years service to go out and find another job? Really?

Charles_and_Angie_Howell commented on Thursday, Mar 28, 2013 at 11:15 AM

10 years of service? Ok, you have a job - as secure job. Stop whining.

Federal employees have not had a raise in 4-5 years AND are facing furlough days off w/o pay.

You'll live.

Drive-by Windows
February 27, 2014
Hi, Some of us are wise enough to stay away from the drive-by windows. Others, could not survive in an ice storm without them. There must be a better way to order dinner than yelling back and forth through a speaker system that never works properly. Repeating orders while yelling ...

Is Mr. Lewis having a bad day?
January 28, 2014 According to the article printed in today's Herald (1/28/14), Councilman Lewis is blaming some of his troubles on store owners who come from India or Indian heritage. Why would a man who has lived through some of the darkest of times in our society lash out at others in ...

It's a bittersweet Christmas
December 26, 2013
Hi, For many GSU football fans, we are sad to see Coach Monken leave our field of gladiators in favor of coaching another great set of heroes. We wish him well and much success. We were hoping we could see a great match-up at Bobby Dodd stadium against Paul Johnson. ...
