So, I heard about the new movie studio coming to Effingham Co. A whole studio? What kind of productions will they make there? There are too many Southern reality shows already - Honey Boo-Boo, Swamp People, Duck Dynasty, Billy The Exterminator, Lizard Lick Towing, etc.

Why aren't there reality shows set in northern places?

Sox - people in Boston
Plowed - about snow plow drivers
Booth People - toll collectors on the turnpikes
So Sweet - maple syrup gatherers
Ballin' - urban basketball
Bangin' - NYC gangs
In your pocket - urban thieves

I don't watch reality shows anyway, but these might have some regional appeal. After all, if I don't want to watch the current shows, I can always just go shopping at WalMart. :-)

I was pretty impressed with the article about it in today's paper. It will be the largest movie production studio in the world outside of Asia, use its own solar power, and eventually employ 1000 people. It looks like Medient Studios makes movies, not reality TV. But the article says they will produce video games too. Here's their website: http://medient.com/

Charles,

If you have never seen the number 1 reality show in America, Duck Dynasty, it is a must see.

22, Charlie.

I have heard some good things about Duck Dynasty, but have not watched it.

I am not a fan of 'reality' shows. I think a lot of them are not spontaneous at all, instead they are contrived drama with amateur actor wanna-bes. I strongly suspect producers call the shots and could care less if they ruin lives and relationships in the process.

Bottom line - I don't consider them 'real' because they seem to be more and more scripted, acted, edited, and not close to anything I consider real.

North Woods Law is pretty good and Maine is very far north!

I have been considering this blog for a few months, but yesterday’s trip to the grocery store made me stop and think. We went to pick up “a few things.” The bill was over $150. As we discussed this on the way out the door, we determined that the only ...

Help me with FaceBook
August 23, 2012
Maybe this is a ‘generational’ thing, but I seem to be missing the point of FaceBook. At least I seem to misunderstanding it use. I hope someone will take the time to help me understand. FaceBook strikes me as a huge public environment where people express their opinions. People ‘post’ ...

A Question of Standards
May 15, 2012
So, last week I participated in katieog’s blog about gay marriage. I tried my best to articulate a position and to AVOID any mention of religion. It was not easy, and I still took some shots for a ‘holier than thou” attitude and using false platforms (slippery slope). This morning, ...

Everyone, Charlie. First some facts.... I am a football fan. I know and understand the game. I have played some and watched A LOT. I am not a fan of football "experts" who use hours of film and mountains of stats to say what is and is not a prototypical ...
