I am the owner of Leonsmenswear in the Statesboro Mall.
I was notified 4 weeks ago that they were throwing me out like TRASH! There was NO reason for this action. We have a lease and in the lease there is a clause they can ask me to leave. We have been in the mall for 29 years. I have always paid my rent and been a model tenant. The owners of Statesboro Mall is a tyrant all they want is almighty dollar. I begged the owners to let us just complete our lease, which is only two more years. I have employee's that have worked for me for years and now they have to look for jobs. I myself will also have to look for another job after working for my self for 29 years. I guess we will have to get unemployment at this time after we close our doors 12/31/2012.
The mall just put up old prints of downtown Statesboro. They seem to say they care about local merchants, but I was told to get out because we were not a fast moving store and my sales were not as good as chain stores. This is what they want in our local mall. I really just can't understand what I have done wrong for the owners of Statesboro Mall to trash me out............. for no good reason other than they have the authority to do so!

Leon,

I have been a customer from time to time ,and I think that your store offers an array of unique merchandise and a hometown feel not available in other stores. I hope that you can find an alternate location because I think it would be a shame to lose another Statesboro institution. Good luck!

Leon,

My family and I have browsed your merchandise at times and always found the staff to be friendly and efficient. The stuff we bought was good quality.

I suggest you roll with the flow. If the S'Mall doesn't feel that your store contributes to the overall appeal, bump 'em. Find a new place.

I know Brooklet has plenty of open storefronts. Seems like there are open storefronts in the 'Boro as well. Check up near the Pro Audio, as well as out near Ogeechee Tech. Main Street is also an option.

Best of Luck!
