Putting Politics Ahead of National Security
Resent reports in the Washington Times that David Axelrod the President’s re-election campaign manager has been attending National Security meetings in the White House should set off major alarms in our press and be front page headlines in every newspaper nationwide. Never, in our nation’s history, has a president allowed his political advisors to influence National Security decisions. What may be best for the President’s re-election prospects may not be best for our nation's security. National Security matters must always be made in the best interest of the country, and by those in charge of keeping our country safe.
The Soviet Communists used this kind of system to make all decisions affecting government policy. The political commissar had the power to over rule any decision made if it went against the Communist Party’s doctrine or Party leaders wishes. The Communist went so far as to put Party Commissars in each military unit with the power to change any order given by the unit’s military commander. They could remove the military commander and even have him shot.
This latest example of what this President and his ideological political advisors are doing, shows us once again, who they are. This is very dangerous ground that the President has taken our country.
