This project and troupe of talented actors was created out of necessity. In our urban communities, if we want change, we have to make it happen ourselves. We cannot expect our federal, state or local governments to do it. Change starts with each individual that lives within a community. I see our young people standing around bored with nothing to do. An idle mind is an open door to negative influences. Not everyone will succumb to these types of pressures; however, those young people that will, need a positive alternative.
The alternative is hooking up with something that has the potential to grow into something that could possibly leave a legacy to those that will want to follow in our footsteps. Young people need choices. Not every young person will become a pro athlete. That should not be our only alternative. If we take the time to encourage our young people to “think outside the box” or their small-town community, then we will begin to see change in our children and in our community.
The Community Theatrical Project is on a mission to give young people an outlet in our community. “Ain’t Nobody Mad ... But The Devil” is our freshman original project, but hopefully this will be the beginning of more things to come.
The Performance is scheduled for May 12, 2012 @ 4:00pm doors open, 5:00pm Showtime - Hagan Temple Church 954 Hodges Rd, Hagan GA 30429. This is a FREE EVENT. A free will offering will be received.
