| BIO: | James Kicklighter is an undergraduate Communication Arts/Production Major at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia, where he is a Brother in Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. He is also the Co-Chairman of JamesWorks Entertainment, LLC, a member of the Southeastern Film Association, which strives to promote the work of Southern filmmakers, and an Associate Member of the Writers Guild of America, East.
During his high school career, he earned Excellent ratings from the Georgia Scholastic Press Association for his work as Director on the Warrior Cry and Co-Editor of the Battle Creek Bulletin. Additionally, Kicklighter placed 2nd in 2004 for Impromptu Speaking at Georgia Future Business Leaders of America State Competition. He also participated in Austin Film Festival's 2004 and 2005 Young Screenwriters Contest. He worked as a ground promoter with Motive Entertainment for the 2005 Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media release of "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." Currently, James is a producer on "The One Second Film," a 70mm non-profit collaborative film project attempting to bring thousands of diverse people together to make film history as a fundraiser for the Global Fund for Women. He recently completed producing and directing the audiobook for Be Sweet Publications "Jeremiah Makes History Hop," the first in a series of children's books about Jeremiah the time-traveling tree frog, who explores historical events. Upcoming projects include a half-hour television comedy pilot, "Confessions of a Punk God," which he will direct and reteam with Mark Stokes, "Mountain Morning," a coming of age civil war drama penned by himself and Steven Clark, and "The Inside of Love," an insightful romantic drama about the different stages of a relationship. He is currently shooting THAT GUY: THE LEGACY OF DUB TAYLOR, a feature-length documentary on Western character actor Dub Taylor, for which he serves as Executive Producer and Assistant Director. |
